National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT)

National Taipei University of Technology (Taipei Tech) was established in 1912. With over a century of long-standing history and experience in education, Taipei Tech has nurtured numerous technical professionals. Taipei Tech’s graduates are also recognized as among the most employable, as reported by Cheers and other magazines.

In 2022, Innovation Frontier Institute of Research for Science and Technology (iFIRST) was established with a focus on AI, Information security, and semiconductor technology. It brings together research capacity from industry and faculty from six professional colleges, connects existing industry research platforms, and actively expands cooperative research relationships between relevant industry-university-research institutions to establish enterprise alliances. iFIRST is committed to establishing an innovative organizational framework and regulations that enable industry participation in university governance. This includes innovation management and the provision of an industry-university platform and environment for interdisciplinary R&D cooperation, as well as high-level talent cultivation. In addition to  the current Master/Doctor Program in AI and Information Security, the Master Program in Semiconductor Technology will commence in the academic year of 2024.

Program Introduction

We form a research and development alliance with international manufacturers and the world's top universities and use practical research topics as the guide to build a pre-industry learning environment. The focuses on the cultivation of students with technical skills for practical industry-university research and development are also emphasized. The course structure is divided into basic, core, and capstone courses with various semiconductor areas including material properties, semiconductor physics, integrated circuit design, device manufacture and analysis. We cooperate with TSMC to set up practical courses. Students are arranged to go to the TSMC newcomer training center all day during holidays for training. Students also receive pilot line practical training in the semiconductor joint venture of iFIRST.
